HIS FAITHFULNESS FOR OUR FAILURES
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Genesis contains rich details of God's love for mankind. He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, where they could live freely and enjoy His miraculous creation. They lacked nothing, and the Lord gave them only one restriction: they were not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He warned them that if they ate from the tree, they would surely die. But the serpent deceived them by suggesting that God was withholding knowledge from them. That tiny seed of doubt led to the fatal bite that brought sin into the world. God's perfect creation was now tainted by sin. Immediately, Adam and Eve knew they had sinned and tried to hide from the Lord. But God is sovereign, and nothing escapes His eyes. He questioned them and allowed them to explain what they had done, much like children who try to justify their wrongdoing to a parent.
God delivered their consequences and banished them from the garden. This is the part of the story where we may be tempted to question God's goodness and love, but it's also where His goodness shines brightly. He followed through with the consequences because He never goes back on His Word; He is trustworthy and righteous. Yet before sending them out of the garden, He made garments from animal skins to cover their nakedness and prepare them for life outside Eden. His justice and His grace are not contradictory. They're beautifully displayed together. Even in our disobedience, His love is faithful.
APPLICATION: Think of a specific time you disobeyed God, yet He continued to take care of you. You may have faced consequences, but reflect on His goodness despite your disobedience.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Please forgive my sins and help me to walk in obedience to Your divine commands. Help me to recognize Your goodness and love in all circumstances. Amen.
